Denver blackended death trio, Glacial Tomb, is one of the newest products of a wildly productive Denver metal scene. Featuring current and former members of Khemmis, Abigail Williams, and Cult of the Lost Cause, the budding effort showed a great deal of potential with their first EP, Cognitive Erosion. This morning, with the arrival of a brand new song and tour dates, Glacial Tomb certainly appears to have been working on their craft.
Their new track, "Sunless Dawn" shows an immense expansion in the group's repertoire. Heavy sludge elements found their way into this song. Additionally, dual vocals seem to have a greater emphasis now. Of course, this doesn't detract from the band's venomous. In fact, it adds to it. Thankfully, you'll have a chance to see the new music live when Glacial Tomb hits the road in support of Immortal Bird this summer.
Chicago's Immortal Bird is also hard at work on new music. The deathgrind outfit is undoubtedly a force in the field, crafting visceral metal since 2013. It has also been roughly three years since new music from the band. Knowing Immortal Bird, the prospects of new music is incredibly exciting. These two bands will be decimating parts of the East Coast and Midwest starting in June. Make sure to get your tickets as soon as possible.
